The sun is officially out, and so is Lightweight: Volume 2… our updated collection of summer favourites. And there’s been LOTS of thought behind it! Starting with the fact that we just couldn’t resist bringing out newness of our bestselling collection from every single summer. But, beyond that, we’re expanding on the collection by following the spring/summer 2025 fashion trends. Which means neutral shades, versatility, co-ords, and features that make life easier!
So, we’re here to delve a little deeper into this collection of breathable clothing to give you all the reasons why your wardrobe just can’t live without it. Keep reading for all the inside scoop on this upgraded collection of Lightweight essentials.
Behind the Scenes of Lightweight: Volume 2
As with every Lovall piece, we bring them to life with our very own team, based here in the countryside in the middle of England. And it’s all down to the amazing designers here, that the collections are created. We even test them in-house on real women who work here before finalising them and bringing them to you guys.
With Lightweight, it’s been a long time in the making and has been ever-improving since. Now a bestseller from the past 3 years, since its launch, it felt about time to bring out more of where that came from. So, with the addition of the new Flares into the collection in the summer of 2024, summer 2025 needed a little love too. Which is why we’ve focussed on new styles, creating a complete set, and even more of the favourites in brand-new shades.
Taking the upcoming trends into account, we decided on what was most important to this collection. This led us to want to bring out complete looks, shorter shorts, and colours that we knew you would all love this season. What is Lightweight Clothing?
It might be obvious, but lightweight clothing is the pieces that feel as light as a feather to wear. It is designed specifically for summer, to make a change from the thick pieces that you’re used to wearing all the rest of the year. Crafted to avoid the usual insulating designs, to allow breathability. Stopping you from getting sweaty and overwhelmed in the heat.
Leggings looks are where lightweight clothing designs become particularly helpful because they stop the need to pack away these effortless go-to looks over the summer. We design lightweight sets so you can keep wearing your favourite styles even in the warm weather. And we know you love them because they’re a sell-out every year! Which is why we upgraded the collection.

Lightweight Summer Outfits are Calling
Now we’ve established that your favourite style is still in season, thanks to lightweight, all you need to do is create some go-to looks for the summer from them. And we’ve given you some choices to make!
First up, the classic leggings. They’re a bestseller for Lovall, and it’s because they are frankly unbeatable as leggings you can actually wear in summer. Crafted for temperatures between 15 – 30 degrees, they are MADE for the heat. So, if leggings are your absolute go-to, there is no reason to seek out a new one in the warmer months. But you just need to think of how to style them.
But don’t panic because this is where the first lot of newness comes in! Introducing the new Tank. Using the same breathable, lightweight fabric, our designers have crafted a matching Tank Top to pair with your lightweight bottoms. Now it’s a whole summer outfit, just ready to be worn by you!
Plus, we added details that every woman will need. Including built-in internal support so you can go bra-free, soft breathable fabric that avoids sweat patches, and added stretch that not only sculpts your body but can even work for pregnancy because they give whilst also having shape retention. With this new Tank it’s not just about a pair of leggings, but creating whole summer outfits with leggings, creating a whole fit rather than just one part of it.
But beyond the new top half, we’ve been working on the bottom half too! With the flares becoming such a hit last year, we decided to launch new colours to add to the collection. So, you can now get your hands on Slate Green and Stone shades in the Flared Lightweight Leggings. These proved to be so popular in the leggings, that we couldn’t resist giving you the flared options too.
As well as that, the lightweight shorts were so loved by you guys, that we just had to do something new here too. And, of course, we took inspiration from the upcoming fashion trends, which means that shorts are just getting shorter! So, we’ve launched a new 6” length cycling shorts to complement the existing 8” version. Meaning, that whether longer or shorter is more your style, there’ll be a pair for you.
